Animals present a challenge to humans. They offer questions about humanity and morality. The ideas and representation of animals in Western culture are varied and often contradictory; from anthropomorphic animals in films to the conviction of the absolute difference of the moral position of humans and animals. We apparently think our gestures towards other species are friendly-yet those gestures are grounded in a firm belief in human superiority.
With the series - MORE THAN LIFE - I’m rethinking our relationship with animals by presenting them in their natural habitat according to men, yet always with a fakeness. They are more than life - sometimes alive, sometimes dead - and always as beautiful as humans.
