The life of a woman
One of the hardest things about starting a new project is figuring out what the images are showing, who will translate your idea, and how to communicate the vision the best towards the team. Although I have a clear idea of what I want to create, the process is always a tough decision process. I often start with a quick brainstorm to order my thoughts and ideas. While searching for the right models and other creatives partners, I normally start writing down my ideas in a project plan (which will help you communicate your ideas as well as structure your plan). This often includes the following sections: concept, interpretation, moodboard, styling / make-up.
For the new series SEVENFOLD: the life of a woman I work closely with designer Annicke Shireen. It’s always a challenge to communicate the ideas as clear as possible. Each decision sends the designs in a new direction and without a guideline there are infinite possibilities. Last week, Annicke started with some sketches for the head pieces for each goddess. So here are some examples of my project plan and how Annicke translate it to her designs:
On July 15, together with make-up artist Whitney Krokké, we are doing a test shoot so we can make additional changes before the actual shoot in September.
